At the end of 2023, Kobie completed a 60-day “Paws for a Cause” fundraising campaign supporting our community. We used the appeal of our four-legged friends to raise funds for the St. Pete Free Clinic (SPFC) to combat food insecurity and support health equity.
We are proud to announce that through our first annual “Paws for a Cause”, Kobians raised a total that exceeded $31,600 for the community! By creating pet profiles to help solicit votes and donations from family, friends and colleagues, the winning fundraiser was crowned Kobie’s “Chief Cuteness Officer”.
The paw-mate who clinched the title by raising an impressive $2,090 was Lady – a King Charles Cavalier. Alongside her owner, Eir Welch, Director of Customer Success at Kobie’s Contact Center, their efforts secured a symbolic role for Lady within Kobie and significantly contributed to the overall fundraising success. In second place was Akai, owned by Karen Slaugenhaupt, who raised a commendable $1,675. Special recognition also goes to our other runners-up, Jennifer Sims and Katie Showalter, whose paw-mates each raised over $1,000.
Kobie has a longstanding partnership with the St. Pete Free Clinic, making significant contributions through our annual fundraising efforts. The “Paws for a Cause” campaign showed our continuous dedication to the community, with the funds raised during the campaign directly supporting SPFC’s mission of addressing food insecurity in Pinellas County. This contribution aligns with Kobie’s commitment to community support, having previously donated over $200,000 to SPFC through the Jared S. Hechtkopf Community Food Bank. This food bank serves as a crucial resource, distributing a variety of items, including fresh produce, meat, dairy, and shelf-stable food, to over 134,000 residents facing food insecurity in Pinellas County.
In addition to providing local community support, we also extended our reach in 2023 by donating to No Kid Hungry, one of the SPFC’s national supporters and partners. With a similar mission, No Kid Hungry provides relief to the 1 in 5 kids in America today facing food insecurity. On behalf of each of our clients from coast to coast, we donated to No Kid Hungry in their honor this holiday season.
We want to express our gratitude to everyone who participated, donated, and supported our causes throughout 2023. Together, we continue to make a meaningful difference in our community. Learn more about Kobie’s culture here.
