At Kobie, we believe that a strong company culture is deeply rooted in giving back. Our commitment to the community runs deep, inspiring us to support those around us, especially during challenging times. This dedication earned us the Tampa Bay One Award this year, recognizing our philanthropic efforts in the community we call home.
This year, when hurricanes Helene and Milton struck, impacting many of our teammates and their families, the Kobie family knew they had to step up.
In the aftermath, our entire team came together, organizing cleanup efforts, providing essential supplies, and even opening our homes to displaced teammates. As one teammate, Trudy Hunter, expressed, “The amount of support I’ve had over the last three weeks is absolutely incredible, and I just can’t thank my Kobie family enough.”
Even our remote teammates joined in, together raising over $16,000 within days to help those most affected. The funds were distributed to our teammates who were hit the hardest during the storm to help cover costs like temporary housing, clean-up supplies, rebuilding their houses and whatever else was an immediate need. It was a powerful reminder of how strong we are when we unite to lift each other up.
While traditionally we host an annual community-oriented fundraiser for our partners at the St. Petersburg Free Clinic, this year called for flexibility. Our priority was clear: help our teammates and our immediate community. “It has been amazing to watch a company surround people going through such a tragedy,” shared Marti Beller, reflecting on the support that made all the difference for so many.
At Kobie, giving back strengthens our team and enables us to make a meaningful difference in the places we call home. Together, we’re more than just a company; we are a community, committed to showing up for one another when it matters most.
