Starting the year with positive momentum

To kick off the year, teammates across Kobie came together for the Kobie Kindness Challenge — a three-week initiative centered on a simple idea: small acts of kindness can create meaningful impact.

The challenge encouraged teammates to intentionally show kindness to themselves, to one another, and to their communities. With flexible participation and no daily requirements, teammates engaged in ways that fit naturally into their work and personal lives, reinforcing Kobie’s ongoing commitment to teammate well-being, mental health, and creating space for people to show up as their best selves.

What was the Kobie Kindness Challenge?

With over 75 teammates signing up, participants completed acts of kindness across three focus areas:

  • Kindness towards themselves
  • Kindness for others
  • Kindness to their community

From recognizing colleagues and offering support across teams to taking intentional breaks or giving back locally, teammates completed hundreds of acts of kindness throughout the challenge. What emerged was less about completing a challenge and more about building everyday habits of recognition, empathy, and balance.

How did kindness spread across Kobie?

A defining element of the challenge was Pass the Ripple, where teammates recognized acts of kindness and invited others to continue the momentum.

This simple action created connection across teams and regions, making appreciation more visible and encouraging teammates to pause, check in, and support one another, moments that directly contribute to a healthier, more connected workplace.

Rather than ending with one action, kindness carried forward across the organization.

How did the challenge extend beyond Kobie?

The impact of the challenge extended into the communities our teammates care about most. Teammates who completed all 25 acts on their challenge card were entered to win a personal prize paired with a charitable donation to an organization of their choice — turning individual acts of kindness into broader community impact.

Three winners were selected this year, each directing a $500 donation to a charity meaningful to them.

Brad chose Fox Tales Florida, an animal rescue organization he supports through volunteer work. “Every smile counts. The challenge helped me recognize how small moments of kindness can create lasting impact.”

Deidra selected Pet Pal Animal Shelter in Pinellas County, sharing that the experience encouraged her to pause each day and approach kindness more intentionally — both toward others and herself.

Theo chose Feeding America, supporting efforts to combat food insecurity nationwide.

Together, these contributions extended the ripple of kindness beyond Kobie and into the communities our teammates care deeply about.

Why moments like this matter

While the Kobie Kindness Challenge lasted only a few weeks, its impact continues through stronger connections, increased recognition, and a shared focus on supporting one another.

At Kobie, prioritizing teammate health, including mental and emotional well-being, isn’t a single initiative. It’s reflected in everyday behaviors that create a supportive, people-first environment.
